FOOD, DRINK, TOBACCO OFF LIMITS FOR CLASSROOMS

A recent campus e-mail from Assistant to Executive Vice President Helen P. Baker reminded faculty (including adjuncts) about a campus policy effective Jan. 1, 2005:

“No food, or drink, or tobacco products of any kind are allowed in Bacone College classrooms.”

The only beverage permitted for faculty and students is bottled water.

However, according to Baker, signs indicate the 2005 may not be followed.

“I am optimistic that the food wrappers and drink cups that fill up the classroom trash cans are from students,” she said, “dumping their food and drink as they come into your class. If not, please follow campus policy.”
