Bacone College Hosts Art Conservation Volunteers

DSCF0371Many prominent art curators and conservators recently donated their time to focus on the restoration and preservation of Bacone’s cultural artifacts.

The events took place this past weekend with the intent of establishing a deeper connection to the Native American culture.

Ataloa Lodge Museum, one of the finest collections of American Indian art and culture, contains the majority of these significant pieces.

Matt Reed, conservator of the Oklahoma Historical Society, said, “The artwork on this campus is rare and profound. It’s vital that we raise awareness plus appreciation for future generations.” Continue reading

Eventful Day Brings Positive Outlook for Bacone College Students

Bacone College’s Matriculation Day brought with it a fresh approach to new and returning students.

It began with the school’s faculty coming in early to serve a hearty breakfast for hungry and bright-eyed scholars.

Student orientation, which is a meeting to inform freshman or transfer students what to do and expect while at Bacone, was the next on the agenda, followed by Matriculation at Bacone Memorial Chapel and an afternoon of community service. Continue reading

Bacone releases Fall 2014 Final Exam Schedule

This Final Exam Schedule is for main campus 16-week course offerings.

The last day of regularly scheduled classes for Fall 2014 is Tuesday, December 9.

Study Day is Wednesday, December 10.

Final Exam Week is Thursday, December 11 through Tuesday, December 16.

On-line classes are to have their final exams completed by Tuesday, December 16.

Final Grades are due to the Registrar by 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 17.

In addition to all day classes, all Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening classes will follow this Final Exam Schedule. Continue reading
