Anticipations and pulses were high for the start of the new flag football league.

This marked the first installment of the games so many were in attendance to show support.

Bacone’s Outdoor Baptistry visible reminder of past, school mission

Situated behind the chapel and south of Ataloa Lodge is an old stone, roofed structure that recalls a past time on the Bacone campus. The outdoor baptistry has not been in use for many years, and yet it remains, a visible reminder of what Bacone College stands for.

When the baptistry was built is lost to time—probably it was constructed around 1885, at the same time that Rockefeller Hall opened its doors to students who relocated from Tahlequah, where Almon Bacone had founded Indian University, to Creek land northeast of Muskogee.
